Yeah, I’m sure the 115,000 Iraqi civilans killed by U.S. forces sure feel the same way. Same as the 8,000 innocent Afghan civilians killed by U.S. forces.

You’re joking, right? No, you have to be joking. There’s absolutely no way you could be remotely serious. It’s beyond my mental comprehension to even believe that someone could be capable of writing something so inaccurately idiotic in nature.

Listen here 17 year old Hunter from Sacramento, California, because I’m going to enlighten the fuck out of you. Do you have any clue what it’s like over there? I’m guessing since you are in fact seventeen years of age, and I’m almost certain you don’t have the testicular fortitude to ask your parents to sign a waver, that you aren’t in the U.S. Military. Am I correct? If not, then don’t bother reading anything below this paragraph. If I’m not correct, then I’ll just regard you as a fucking moron. But as I mentioned, I’m fairly positive you aren’t a member of our armed forces; this being based off the general stupidity and cowardice displayed in your response to my witty little subtitle to that picture.

Tell me why I’d enlist in the military to begin with, tell me why I’d want to sign away 2-4 years of my life to fight a bullshit war in a fucking desert in a service that’s killed civilians in the name of supposed freedom.

If you do consider yourself an intellectual, as I’m so sure you do, you’re going to read this. I’m trying to be as civil as possible before typing this, but I just can’t, so I’ll say it. Are you mentally retarded? Do you have any fucking clue as to what goes on over there, aside from what you see on the news or read on your biased Internet news sources? I’ve been there, Hunter, and it’s not pretty. There are people dying and starving because they are being oppressed by a terrorist-led organization. Do you know what happens to people when we try and help them? There’s a 50/50 chance I’ll never see that old man, women, or child ever again; simply because I offered them an M.R.E., a Gatorade, or some water. These religious nutjobs threaten the lives of innocent people if they accept our help, and better yet, use these innocent people as shields and decoys when they attack my fellow brothers and sisters.

Amazing civility you’ve just displayed, mental retardation? Classy as I expected. If you take me for some fool who flips on CNN to get my information you’re wrong. I search sources, I analyze events, I make deductions of events.

It’s clear you’re over there and it’s clear you’ve deluded yourself into believing that the armed forces are this spearhead mechanism of good and justice. People were living in a less than “free” society, so how did the United States military decide to solve it? By bombing homes, killing families and children. Just because you’re over there is no fucking justification of the massacre of thousands of innocent people at the hands of U.S. forces. You’ve done far more harm than good, it’s the same routine the U.S. government has pulled since the end of World war II, upset governments and elect officials that they’re comfortable with. It’s funny seeing that more civilians have been killed at the hands of our side than the “terrorists” themselves. Now tell me, how would you justify that? This is a serious question, how do you possibly justify all of these deaths? I’ll let you sit on that one until you come up with a logical answer.

People don’t see you again because they’re afraid of you, and I don’t blame them. They expect to be shot at, to be hit by an explosion, to be taken away. You’re nothing more than police with upgraded equipment.

Do you know why they attack you? It’s because for decades you’ve done nothing except terrorize them and their families with war. All they’ve been subjected to for decades is war, and the fight you’re currently fueling does nothing to quell it.

If people were to come over to the U.S. and start carpet bombing neighborhoods in search for suspected terrorists, would you not fear them? Would you not fire back?

Use deductive reasoning. There’s no reason to be over there in the first place.

Guess what? Sometimes shit happens in war, and it’s an awful thing. Sometimes these horrible people put innocents lives at risk because they’re too afraid to fight us face-to-face. I won’t go into details, but I’ll let you know something Hunter: I have to live with guilt for the rest of my life, because I made the right decision. I will take what happened over there to my fucking grave, and chances are it will be the death of me. Do you have any idea what that’s like? To carry such a burden for the rest of my life? I think about it every day, it haunts my dreams.

“Shit happens in war”

That’s your entire justification? Shit happens? Oh well fuck it then, all war crimes should be abolished since shit just happens.

Think critically for two seconds (that’s not too long for you is it?), is that really justification for children being shot and killed? Is that really justification for all the suffering these people are being put through in this bullshit war?

I doubt if you were facing an enemy with vastly superior technology you’d face them head on like the bad ass you’re trying to make yourself appear as. It’s war, it’s a fight of survival. They’re thinking logically and using guerrilla warfare to stay alive. Does that make their actions any better? No, and it doesn’t make yours better either. It doesn’t matter whether or not the casualties were intentional, it’s a fucking atrocity to basic human rights.

Regardless of what choices you were forced to make, they were made in an unjustifiable war. I’ve seen things, not to the extent of what you’ve been through but I’ve lived in an area of violence and conflict. I lived in West Oakland for 9 years of my life. I’ve seen robberies, I’ve seen people being shot at, shooting at other people, stabbings, muggings, and I’ve also seen what the cops have done to the innocent. To me that’s all soldiers are, cops with bigger guns. You’re fighting in a war that should not have been fought in the first place, 5,000 people have lost their lives under the actions of a government looking out for their own personal interests.

My good friend of 6 years took a sniper round to the chest while defusing a bomb in Afghanistan, my cousin Tony is in Iraq right now. Soldiers and good people’s lives are being tossed out the fucking window, and for what? A false story of fiction and lies.

Now let me pose you a question, out of everything you say you’ve been through and everything you’ve seen, how do you justify the military presence in Iraq and Afghanistan? How?

Now let me ask you another ridiculously simple question. After reading that, do you think I took joy in what I had to do? I’m not going to answer that for you, because it should be self-explanatory.

You do not take joy in what you do, I do not want to fathom what person would.

Before I wrote this I thought to myself, “I hope this kid feels my pain tenfold after saying that. I hope he feels my pain, and every other person who has to struggle with this weight. I hope it hurts.” But you know what? I couldn’t wish such a thing. I hope no one ever has to feel what I feel, ever. Let me put it to you this way, if ending my own life in the most excruciating way possible meant both these wars would be over, I would do it in a heartbeat. I wouldn’t even think twice about it, my friend.

And do you not question why you are there? Did you never question our presence over there?

But yet, you’re telling me to go fuck myself? No, you dense, snot-nosed, self-righteous, spoiled, uneducated swine. You are the dirt on my fucking combat boots. The fact that people like you are allowed to exist, let alone vomit whatever bullshit comes to your head all over the web, makes me nauseous. You disgust me.

And yet you find the killing of children okay because “shit happens”? That’s what’s nauseating to me. If you’re going to say that innocent people being killed in the name of war because it’s “just war”, then I will make a fucking banner that says in giant bold lettering “Go Fuck Yourself”

Anyone who tries to justify something like that can go fuck themselves, I don’t care if you’ve won the congressional medal of honor or if you saved a fucking orphanage from a fire, if you possibly try to justify the slaughter of civilians because shit just happens you can go fuck yourself.

I had a cousin that was killed in Iraq. Before he died he sent me a letter telling me to never enlist. He told me that he watched his friends detonate bombs that ended up killing around 60 people in an attempt to kill 1 or 2 supposed terrorists. He said he’d feel panic attacks coming on because he’d be staring into a sea of faces and a child would start shooting at them. He had to kill a child because said child threatened his comrades. In that letter he goes “I wish I would’ve researched what really happens here, instead of listening to my recruiter.” In that letter he said he felt like a vile disgusting person because he played a part in killing innocent people and he went on to say “When I think about it, me killing several people to try to take down one terrorist, probably turns the relatives of those innocent people into terrorists.” And he’s exactly fucking right. The U.S. military fulfills the stereotype that these terrorist organizations have created. Now I’m not gonna sit here and say I know how to handle terrorism because I’m not a fucking CIA / foreign relations analyst. But the point is this: my cousin did not try to justify killing the children and innocent people that he killed. That’s not justifiable and it is immoral to kill in general. But I UNDERSTAND the concept of “kill or be killed” and I do think that in such a situation I would also kill before being killed. But by no means would I ever try to justify that action. That’s covering up your immoral actions with the fucking america flag. 

I understand both of your points in this. I understand where Hunter is coming from and I also understand where this other guy is coming from. But he has no choice in a war zone, he’s being fed orders, think about the shit the military commanders in charge of him are feeding him everyday? You cannot leave the fucking military with your mind completely in tact, your perspective WILL be warped. 

At the same time justifying the murder of children, you cannot justify it and you cannot say “shit happens.” And ONE MILLION people were killed in Iraq I’ll give you sources for it (sound sources) if you want. That’s not fucking acceptable. I don’t feel any safer with them dead, I turn on the t.v. and still see them burning the american flag, still trying to fly planes into our buildings apparently. You would think with all these fucking “geniuses” running our foreign relations we’d be able to better handle this but here’s a shocker:

THE WAR ON TERRORISM IS NOT ABOUT FIGHTING TERRORISM. IT IS MODERN AGE IMPERIALISM. YOU CANNOT RATIONALLY ANALYZE ALL OF THESE EVENTS AND STILL FEEL WE ARE FIGHTING TERRORISTS AND TRYING TO BRING FREEDOM TO THE WORLD.
